My 4th of July Lookbook

Happy 4th of July, my friends! On this day in the year of 1776, our forefathers signed the Declaration of Independence, marking our nation as free and independent.
So, on every 4th of July since, we've celebrated our freedom with BBQs, music, flags, and of course, fireworks.
We also take this time to remember those who fought for our country, giving up their lives to keep this nation free. So, with all of my heart, I am dedicating this post to the U.S. soldiers, both active and veterans, who fought diligently to give me a home that I proudly call America.
So for this post I decided I would do something a little different. I am going to be calling it my 4th of July lookbook!
I never really knew what a lookbook was until I heard about it the other day and I looked into it. And I thought, hey, that would be cool to take a spin on!
And that's exactly what I decided to do this week. I'm not only going to be showing you my outfit for the 4th, but also my hair and makeup looks! I am also going to be adding links to the products I am using, so don't be afraid to check it out. That being said...

So, let's get started!
My Outfit
For my outfit, I decided to go with something a little more casual and summery. I thought this outfit was a perfect 4th of July ensemble and just a cute summer outfit in general!

My Hair
For my hairstyle I decided to do a French braid to the nape of my neck, and let the rest loose in a ponytail. I used the red velvet scrunchie, which makes this a super cute and easy hairstyle to do for any occasion!
The reason I decided to put my hair up is so that I can keep it up and out of my face, since the summer heat can really be bothersome. It also helps with working around the house and such and I just wanted to do something a little different this year.
I was thinking about using a temporary hair color that my cousins bought me (it's blue, perfect for the 4th!) but that stuff, as you know, doesn't really show up in dark hair unless you use the entire bottle in one go (which is really annoying and takes forever in my opinion). Plus, I've got church the next day so I didn't want to have to worry about it looking bad.
Anywho, moving on!
My Makeup
Alright y'all, this might be my favorite section of this post (besides the outfit, lol)! For my makeup look I decided I'd go for a festive, colorful look.
For my eyes I went with a silver shade on my lids and a bright blue underneath my eyes, which makes for a really pretty and interesting look. I also did a winged liner on top and pulled it all together with some mascara.
Now, if you know me you know that I absolutely hate lipstick. Well, not hate, per say, but more strongly dislike. I find that it never stays on for very long and I don't like having to keep re-applying it (or applying the gloss, if it's a liquid lipstick). I'm more of a lip balm, Chapstick kinda girl.
But, I decided that I would do something a little different this time. I decided that I was gonna wear some bright red lipstick, totally perfect for this holiday. I thought it went really well with my eye look, and I actually didn't hate it so much.
Overall, I thought this was a festive look that was perfect for Independence Day!
